Eagle Creek Recovery Center - Restoring lives, dignity, and destinies!
Blocker Thornton Transitional Living Center
In October of 2009 we cast the vision for a facility where men who come through our program would have a place where they could live and grow into their new life of freedom while still protected in an accountable environment.  We have made great progress toward our goal in 2010 and today we are seeing what was once a vision become a reality.  The miracle of the Transitional Living Center is so much more than just a new facility.  It represents the reality that many lives are being restored, rebuilt, and returned to families who have hoped for such a place for their sons, husbands, brothers,  and fathers.  So as we enter into the new year,  we are expecting great things! We will keep you updated with the progress.

The day these pictures were taken was the first day the trucks arrived with the lumber for the building.  The dirt work had been completed, the pad had been prepared, and I exercised great restraint as plans were drawn up and tweaked again and again.  So when i got the call that the trucks were coming in the morning, I could hardly sleep because I was so excited!  Then as I stood in front of the center and watched as they were pulling in, I was overwhelmed with emotion.  It was so cold outside but I stood and watched as they unloaded each and every piece.  As the men in the center came out to see all the commotion, one by one, I looked at each of them and saw so much potential, giftings, and destiny.  And here we were, watching the next phase go up that will be instrumental in equipping them to become the men we believe they were created to be.
I felt the strength of your support and wished you could have been there with us personally as history was being made for Eagle Creek Recovery.  Now here we are in the next stage of what we affectionally call the TLC project.  With the dirt work completed, the plumbing finished, and the framework up, our next step is to decide on the best bid for the electrical work to get started.  After that will be the concrete slab and then the metal work.  Once those components are complete, we will move to the inside.  We will keep you informed as the work you are supporting continues to progress.  Your enthusiasm and support fuels and energizes us to stay the course for a cause greater than what we can even measure.  Lives are being transformed; destinies are being discovered - this will be OUR legacy!  - Mike & Stephanie
