Blocker & Minnett Thornton
Blocker and Minnette Thornton founded Eagle Creek Recovery's Mentorship program and have made an incredible impact in the lives of men in the program as well as men who have already graduated. Blocker always seemed to have it in him to lead young men in the ways of life, but it wasn't until he heard Nathan Clevinger's testimony at Eagle Creek's annual benefit that his heart was anchored into this ministry. As he and Minnett began to get involved, they simply saw a need and began to fill it. They noticed how overwhelmed the men were as they were trying to transition back into family and work and knew they could help. Blocker described their purpose this way, "We teach them how God's Word works when they apply it to the areas of finances, family, profession, and even their legal situations." To sweeten the deal, Minnett would make cookies as they gathered in their home. "We open our lives to these men because we believe in the plans God has for them." The program outgrew their home and is held upstairs in Shreveport Community Church's Student Center by others who captured the vision Blocker had for these men.
Dr. Eric & Trish LeBlanc
This incredible partnership began after God delivered two of their children from addiction . It was then that Dr. Eric and Trish LeBlanc knew they would be life long supporters of this ministry that would impact lives again and again year after year. "God took care of my kids, so I want to help take care of someone else's in return." says Dr. LeBlanc. From the beginning they have faithfully given of their time, talent and resources to help men and their families discover the purpose God has for them. Eric and Trish have been married for forty-one years, have three children and two grandchildren. Dr. LeBlanc has thirty-five years of experience in pediatric dentistry and twenty-two years in general dentistry. He currently has an office in Bossier City, LA. Wes & Tammie Usie
Coming from a past of brokenness and addiction, Wes knows firsthand the devastation this destructive lifestyle brings into a family. After being set free and restored over twenty three years ago, he knew in his heart that part of his life's mission would be to help God do for others what God did for him. "Eagle Creek Recovery has always seen value in these men and has taken chances on those whom others have had no room or answers for. They consistently represent the character of Christ in this way." For well over ten years, Wes and Tammy have invested into Eagle Creek Recovery Center to see lives changed by God's power. They have been married for nineteen years and have three children. Wes is the co-owner of Guardian Alarms located in Shreveport, LA. Their partnership is truly changing lives!
Ray & Cindy Teague
Ray and Cindy are some of the founding supporters of the ministry as well as the proud parents of Pastor Stephanie Back. They travel over seven hours from out of town to take part in every major event."When Mike and Stephanie got started with this ministry, they were in over their heads. I remember how difficult it was in the early days to pioneer and build something like this from scratch. Although there were trials and hard times, they never quit.
